"The Cairo Chamber of Commerce received a delegation from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman to discuss ways to increase joint trade and investment relations. The Omani delegation was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ahmed El-Weiseemy, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber, in the presence of Mr. Sameh Zaky, the Second Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber, General Salah Al-Abd, the Treasurer, Ashraf El-Shemy, the Secretary General of the Cairo Chamber, and members of the board of directors of the Cairo Chamber, including Sherif Yahya, Karim Ganem, Ehab Said, Ashraf Khedr, Khaled Hassanein, and Walid Ramadan."

"The two sides reviewed investment and trade opportunities in both countries and ways to benefit from them to increase the volume of mutual trade. The two parties agreed to exchange information, visits, and delegations, and to use modern communication methods to discuss the needs of the markets in different sectors and activities, in order to achieve a real progressive leap in the economic bilateral relations. This task will be accomplished by benefiting from the national impetus of the political leadership in Egypt and the authority of Oman, in order to support economic, cultural, and social relations and raise them to the highest levels. Additionally, the two parties will benefit from the agreements signed by the two countries with all economic entities globally to open new regional and international markets."

Mr. Ahmed El-Weiseemy, in a speech at the Cairo Chamber, stated that this meeting represents an important step towards developing relations between Egyptian and Omani businessmen, increasing the volume of trade and investment exchange, and then integrating roles to support the economies of both countries, in light of the historical relations that unite the Egyptian and Omani people.

Mr. El-Weiseemy also drew attention to the support of the Egyptian political leadership, headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, for investment and investors and that the Egyptian government has taken a package of measures to stimulate investment, such as the new investment law, the establishment of multiple industrial zones, and facilitating the establishment procedures for companies and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and electricity. He also mentioned the establishment of the Higher Council for Investment, headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi himself, which issued 22 decisions to stimulate investment, support investors, industry, and other important facilities. It is expected that Egyptian-Omani relations will witness an economic leap after this meeting, which is characterised by love and affection with our Omani brothers.

Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman, stated that there are historical ties that link Egypt and Oman, and our current presence in Egypt serves as evidence of these ties and our intention to enhance them to the maximum degree on all levels. He also noted the significant development of Egyptian industries in recent times and the Omani market's need for Egyptian products. Furthermore, he mentioned an upcoming exhibition that will be organised by the Omani authorities in a few days to introduce and promote Egyptian products in the Omani market.

His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas invited the Egyptian side to visit Oman to discuss ways of cooperation on the ground, as happened at the Cairo Chamber and to benefit from the agreements signed with Oman in cooperation to enter other new markets. He also highlighted the importance of Omani and Egyptian businesspersons benefiting from government support in both countries and moving towards increasing cooperation and integration to develop the economies of both countries.
