The Cairo Chamber of Commerce has signed a protocol of cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo to increase trade and investment between the two countries. The protocol was signed during the first visit of a Congolese delegation to the Cairo Chamber. The Egyptian Side, including Engineer Sameh Zaky, the Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber, and General Salah El-Abd, Cairo Chamber's Secretary General , welcomed the Congolese delegation, along with representatives of various commercial sectors in the Chamber.

The protocol aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in finding ways to increase bilateral trade and investment through the exchange of information and delegations to explore available opportunities in both countries. During the meeting, Engineer Sameh Zaky expressed his hope that this visit would promote economic and trade relations between Egypt and Congo, and increase joint investment, as the trade exchange between the two countries was approximately $30 million in 2021.

Engineer Sameh Zaky also emphasized that Egypt is currently undergoing an important stage of economic development to attract direct investments and achieve sustainable development. He cited recent developments in Egypt's infrastructure to encourage foreign investment, including road networks, transportation, ports, communications, and energy, as well as the establishment of several industrial zones, especially the Suez Canal axis. He also highlighted the new investment law that protects investors and eliminates bureaucracy to facilitate registration and operation procedures.

The Congolese delegation agreed on the importance of renewing and activating previous agreements between the two countries, such as the COMESA and the Continental Free Trade Agreement, to support trade and investment relations. The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Congo, Pami Kazila Kalala, emphasized the need for real cooperation that reflects the true benefits for both countries, saying "we must be real partners."

He invited the Cairo Chamber to visit Congo to explore the needs of the Congolese market, especially since Congolese consumers prefer Egyptian products. He also revealed that the Congolese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize a special exhibition for Egyptian products in Kinshasa to introduce them to Congolese citizens, which will open new opportunities for Egyptian products to expand in the Congolese market and increase bilateral economic transactions between the two countries.
