Chinese Delegation Visits Cairo Chamber to Explore New Joint Investments and Industries

The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of Mr. Ayman Ashry, received an official delegation from the Chinese province of "Hangzhou." The delegation consisted of investors and industrialists aiming to discuss opportunities for mutual Egyptian-Chinese cooperation in various commercial, industrial, and investment sectors.

 

 

 

Representing Mr. Ayman Ashry, the Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber, Mr. Sherif Yahia, and Mr. Sayed El-Nawawi, welcomed the Chinese delegation. The delegation was also greeted by Major General Salah El-Abd, Treasurer of the Chamber, Mr. Ashraf Khedr, Assistant Treasurer, Mr. Ashraf El-Sheimy, Secretary-General of the Chamber, And Emad Qenawi, a member of the Board of Directors of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and a member of the Board of Directors of Cairo Chamber, along with Ehab Said, a member of the Board of Directors of Cairo Chamber, and a number of the Chamber’s members.

 

 

The dialogue between the Egyptian and Chinese sides was moderated by Sherif Yahia. They discussed potential cooperation in various trade, industrial, and investment areas in the upcoming period.

 

 

Members of the Cairo Chamber's Board of Directors emphasized the numerous opportunities for collaboration, emphasizing that Egypt is open to establishing joint investments and industries with all countries. The Chinese side, in particular, was highlighted for its potential contribution to various projects. There is also a push to support and localize Egyptian industries. Leveraging this orientation holds significant importance.

 

 

Cairo Chamber members noted that the Chamber encompasses various activities across more than 61 specialized sectors. This broad spectrum allows for Chinese collaboration in establishing joint investment and industrial projects that would benefit both countries.

 

Cairo Chamber members urged the Chinese delegation to specify sectors for potential collaboration and the value of their investments that could be injected into the Egyptian market for the establishment of shared industries and investments. Egypt's substantial support for industry and investment in recent times, coupled with its modern infrastructure, expansive industrial zones, and reliance on advanced technological approaches, makes it an ideal destination for joint ventures. Furthermore, Egypt serves as a gateway to key markets, including African and Arab markets, to increase exports.

 

During the visit, the Chinese delegation, led by Ms. Shan Zaiming, expressed their satisfaction with the reception and cooperation with the Cairo Chamber. They appreciated the facilitation of information exchange to foster a new era of economic cooperation in various fields. This visit marked their first to the Cairo Chamber, and they anticipated significant cooperation following the positive reception and constructive dialogue, facilitating new collaborations between both sides.

 

The Chinese delegation members emphasized that the forthcoming period would witness significant cooperation with the Cairo Chamber, driven by mutual data sharing and diverse activities championed by the Chamber, which encourage Egyptian-Chinese collaboration. They also highlighted Hangzhou's distinct industries, particularly carpet manufacturing and electrical appliances.
