Cairo Chamber’s Chairman Unveils Formation of 39 Commercial Sectors to Boost Diverse Industries and Bolster National Economy

Ayman Ashry, the Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, announced the opening of membership applications for the general assemblies and candidacy for the boards of directors of the commercial sectors whose terms ended on August 31, 2023. There are approximately 39 sectors across various industries. This comes in accordance with the basic regulations for specialized sectors of chambers issued by Ministerial Decree No. 45 of 2003.

 

 

The Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce emphasized that the reformation of these sectors is part of the Chamber's overall plan to revitalize all commercial, industrial, investment, and service sectors affiliated with the Chamber. This development aligns with the country's goals, especially since these activities support the national economy and constitute its primary foundation.

 

 

 

The commercial sectors whose boards of directors will be reformed include: Grocery Traders, Importers, Tourism and Aviation Company Owners, Poultry Traders, Hairdressers and Barber Shops Owners and Supplies, Butchers, Auto Spare Parts Traders, Communication Centers Owners, Wood Traders, Tobacco Traders and Manufacturers, Car Agents and Dealers, Marble Quarries Exploiters, Agricultural Produce Importers and Grain Traders, Fish Traders, Precious Metals and Gemstones Traders, Customs Clearing Agents, Tanneries Owners and Raw Leather Traders, Opticians, Hardware and Stationery Traders, Herbalists, Environmental Protection Companies Owners, Machinery and Office Supplies Traders, Shoe and Leather Products Manufacturing and Trading, Handicrafts Traders, Firefighting and Industrial Security Equipment Traders, Iron and Paint Traders, Perfumes and Food Essences Producers and Traders, Koshary Shops Owners, Radio, Television, Cinema, and Theater Producers, Flour Traders, Photography and its Chemical Products Traders, Musical Instruments Traders, Fertilizers and Agricultural Fertilizers Traders, Commercial Iron Traders, Glass and Crystal Traders, Restaurant Owners, Fashion Designers and Tailors, Petroleum Station Owners, Antiques and Khan El Khalili Products Traders.

 

 

 

The Cairo Chamber of Commerce urges those engaged in these commercial activities and those wishing to join the general assemblies or run for the boards of directors of the commercial sectors to visit the offices of the commercial sectors at the Chamber's headquarters (4 Al-Falaki Street - Bab El Louq) to complete the required procedures. Candidates for board membership are also required to deposit the prescribed Chamber insurance. Meeting dates for the general assemblies of the sectors will be determined and communicated to applicants after completing the required procedures.

 

 

 

The Cairo Chamber of Commerce emphasizes the importance of bringing certain documents for review, including: Commercial Registry Certificate (valid), Receipt of Chamber Fees and Sector Subscription for the year 2023, National ID card for candidates, Tax Card, Import Card in the case of the Importers sector (Valid), Criminal Record Certificate addressed to the Cairo Chamber of Commerce (Candidates for Board Membership). The period for receiving membership applications for the general assemblies or candidacy for the boards of directors of the sectors will begin on September 3, 2023, and continue until October 2023, with general assembly meetings being held consecutively for sectors that have completed their formation procedures.
