A video conference meeting was held with the organizers of the Canton Fair to discuss Egypt's participation in the 134th edition of the fair, scheduled to start on October 15th. This meeting occurred with the recognition that the fair ranks among the world’s most expansive and influential international trade expos in regard to its size, the quantity of goods, the number of participants, and the showcased products. Mr. Sherif Yahiya, Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber, was also present at the meeting.

Mr. Ayman Al-Ashari urged the Chinese side to allocate a platform or a pavilion in this edition of the exhibition for Egyptian products across various sectors. He deemed it a significant request from the Egyptian side, aiming for mutual benefit between Egypt, China, and the participating countries in the exhibition.

Mr. Ayman Al-Ashari outlined the Egyptian advantages and incentives for investors, as well as the significant investment opportunities within the Egyptian market. He emphasized the strong support from the Egyptian political leadership, particularly President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, for investment and investors.

Mr. President of the Cairo Chamber highlighted Egypt's recent economic development and the significant infrastructure improvements that have been realized on the ground. These developments include the expansion of road networks, the construction of bridges, and the implementation of large-scale projects that have created investment opportunities across various sectors. Notable projects include the Suez Canal Axis, the Administrative Capital, major industrial cities, energy generation projects, and other important national initiatives tailored to modern times. He also pointed out several investment opportunities in Egypt, including agriculture, healthcare, mining, energy, logistics and transportation, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, construction and real estate, textiles, and information technology, all of which can contribute to increasing bilateral trade between Egypt and other countries.

Mr. Ayman Al-Ashari also pointed out Egypt's eagerness to increase Chinese investments, especially following the comprehensive economic reform program implemented by the Egyptian government. This program aims to address structural and financial challenges while taking measures to remove obstacles for investors. It includes various incentives such as tax exemptions and facilitations for obtaining industrial land in several regions.

On their part, the Chinese delegation emphasized that the 134th edition of the fair represents an opportunity to support Egyptian-Chinese economic relations, as well as to engage with other countries. They highlighted that the fair symbolizes China's openness to the world and contributes to global trade. The exhibition includes a substantial number of entrepreneurs, whether physically present at the exhibition or participating online. Furthermore, they have significantly improved all exhibition services, with over 2000 platforms available for showcasing various products.

In response to the request from the President of the Cairo Chamber to allocate a dedicated platform or pavilion for Egyptian products at the exhibition, the Chinese delegation stated that there are indeed three phases in the exhibition where Egyptian products will be showcased. These phases will be officially announced separately for each phase.

The Chinese delegation emphasized the importance of Egyptian participation in the exhibition, highlighting that the fair contributes to increasing global economic activity. This international exhibition, established since 1957, spans an area of approximately one and a half million square meters and hosts about 35,000 platforms covering various sectors. Participation in the exhibition can take place either through physical presence in its events or online after prior registration.
