The Cairo Chamber of Commerce received a delegation from Libya's General Authority for Industrial Zones.

The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, headed by Mr. Ayman Al-Ashry, the chairman of the chamber, received a delegation from Libya's General Authority for Industrial Zones last Thursday to discuss ways of cooperation between the two countries in various sectors at the trade and investment levels.

 

 

The Libyan delegation, on behalf of Mr. Ayman Al-Ashry, chairman of the Chamber, was received by Mr. Sherif Yahya, vice chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce; Major General Salah Al-Abd, treasurer of the Chamber; and Mr. Ashraf Hilal, chairman of the Household Appliances Division in the Chamber.

 

 

The attendees from the Libyan delegation were Mr. Adel Al-Masry Al-Jaafari, Director General of Libya's General Authority for Industrial Zones, Mr. Ali Al-Bahloul, Director of the company organizing the upcoming international conference (Azawad for the Service of Businessmen and Investors), Eng.Muhammad Al-Hijjawi, Undersecretary of Libya's General Authority, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Qamari, Director of Al Roufan General Contracting Company.

 

 

The two sides discussed ways of cooperating in the coming period at the investment and commercial levels, especially since Egypt and Libya have historical relations.

 

 

Mr. Sherif Yahya stressed that the Chamber welcomes increased cooperation with our brothers in Libya in all fields, especially on the investment and mutual trade levels, and there is encouragement from the Egyptian political leadership to support Egyptian relations with all our brothers in different countries.

 

 

Major General Salah Al-Abd inquired about the security situation with regard to investment in Libya, pointing out the importance of cooperation with the brothers in Libya in many fields, and emphasizing the need for direct sessions for fruitful cooperation.

 

 

Mr. Ashraf Hilal inquired about the most important facilities provided by the Libyan side, with regard to taxes, customs, financing methods, and advantages in general, in order to study them and determine ways of cooperating in the coming period.

 

 

For his part, Mr. Adel Al-Masry Al-Jaafari, Director General of Libya's General Authority for Industrial Zones, highlighted Libya's numerous industrial zones, offering advantages in tax, customs, financing, and raw materials, particularly appealing to Egyptian brothers, and plans to send a comprehensive file.

 

 

He added that an international conference will launch contracts with Libyan investors, featuring major investment companies from various countries. The date and location will be announced soon.
