On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Mr. Sherif Yehia, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber, received His Excellency Ambassador José Betancourt Rivera, the Ambassador of Peru to Egypt, on behalf of Mr. Ayman Ashry, the Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials from the Chamber, including Mr. Sayed El-Nawawy, the Second Vice Chairman, Mr. Ashraf Khedr, the Assistant Treasurer of the Chamber, Dr. Najlaa El Naggar, a member of the Board of Directors, Engineer Sameh Zaki, Head of the Exporters Division, and Dr. Ahmed Gharib, a member of the General Division for Foodstuffs.

Mr. Martín Eduardo Palacios Rangel, Deputy Head of Mission from the Republic of Peru, and Mr. Giancarlo André Pedraza Ruiz, Head of the Consular Section, along with Mr. George Yacoub, Director of Public Relations, and Ms. Salma Yasser, Consular Assistant, represented the Embassy of Peru in Egypt.

The meeting also included participants from Peru via Zoom, including His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Bakr, Egypt's Ambassador to Peru, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru. Representatives from Peruvian companies based in Egypt were also present.

During the meeting, the spotlight was on the opportunities available to enhance trade exchange and encourage joint investment. The importance of building bridges of communication between businesses in both the private and public sectors was emphasized. The Cairo Chamber of Commerce reaffirmed its commitment to supporting companies and institutions to achieve success in the markets of both countries.
