The Egyptian-Greek Business Forum: A New Step to Enhance Economic Relations Between the Two Countries

The Cairo Chamber of Commerce, chaired by Mr. Ayman Ashry, organized the Egyptian Greek Business Forum to support the bilateral economic relations between the two countries.

 

 

On Monday, Mr. Ayman Ashry welcomed Mr. Rashad Mobijar, President of the Arab Greek Chamber, and his accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by Mr. Sherif Yehia, Vice President of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ashraf Khodr, Assistant Treasurer of the Chamber, Dr. Naglaa Al-Najjar, a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors, and several heads and members of the commercial divisions and chamber members from various sectors.

 

 

Mr. Ayman Ashry emphasized the distinguished relations between Egypt and Greece, through which they aspire to open new horizons to increase the volume of economic cooperation between the two countries in various fields. This is especially with the significant support provided by the Egyptian political leadership, led by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to investment and investors.

 

 

Mr. Ayman Ashry noted that today's joint business forum is an opportunity to support bilateral economic relations by striving to make the most of their shared capabilities and potentials to achieve their desired economic goals together. He stated that the Cairo Chamber of Commerce encompasses all investment, commercial, industrial, and service activities, with over 630,000 members in these sectors. This allows for opening new cooperation horizons to support the economies of both countries. He highlighted that the bilateral meetings included in this forum will positively impact the increase of joint trade and investment volume. He pointed out that there are products the Greek market can benefit from, given the Egyptian state's support for increasing its exports to various foreign markets. He stressed that this forum is a significant step in developing economic and trade relations and cooperation fields between the two countries, with the trade exchange volume between Egypt and Greece reaching approximately 1.93 billion euros in 2023.

 

 

Mr. Rashad Mobijar, President of the Arab-Greek Chamber, confirmed that there are historical relations between Egypt and Greece, strongly supporting the economic front. He noted that many Greek companies invest in Egypt in various sectors.

 

 

The President of the Arab-Greek Chamber pointed out the substantial and strong relations with the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, considering this forum a new launch between Egypt and Greece on the commercial and investment levels. Positive results are expected following the business forum organized by the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, leading to an increase in joint trade and investment volume. He praised Mr. Ayman Ashry, President of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, for his role in supporting the increase of joint economic relations and facilitating matters between companies on both sides to enhance bilateral trade and investment relations.
