Welcoming Reintroducing daylight saving time again

Mr. Ahmed Alwakil - Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce says that

 

he had welcomed Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab  Egypt Prime Minister decision about Reintroducing daylight

 

saving time again due to its effective impact in reducing the loads on the electricity network.

 

Mr. ALwakil also called for the Issuance of energy saving law with establishment of a fund to support it,

 

As Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco, with the need to grant tariff exemptions on the production requirements

 

of new and renewable energy,  and give incentives for manufacturing, by applying day and evening segments

 

for electricity prices, similar to Telephone bills.

 

He also noted that the federation has no objection To close the shops early, i.e: two hours after closing 

 

all administrative offices that working night shift, excluding restaurants and coffee shops, as it is in other

 

countries.

 

 

Mr. Ahmed Yahiya, Chief of the Division of foodstuffs at Cairo Chamber of Commerce pointed out that

 

the commercial sector, welcomes any decisions aimed at the public interest, even if the situation requires

 

scheduling of opening-closing shops which will be implemented instantly.

 

 

Mr. Mahmoud Alda’oor, Chief of the Division of readymade garments at Cairo Chamber of Commerce

 

supported the suggestion of re-examine the scheduling of opening- closing the shops, He believed that

 

this will contribute in saving one-third of the energy on condition of unifying it on all shops in various

 

governorates indiscriminately.

 

 

In contrast, Dr. Ahmed Abo Alnour, the economic expert said that reducing the working hours of the

 

shops will slowing the movement of commercial markets which is already semi-stagnant.

 

He also suggests to treat the sources of neglected energy such as wind and solar generators, besides the

 

use of Exhausts in thermal insulators and  other industries.
