Mr. Ahmed Al wakil- Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the chairman of
Alexandria chamber of commerce Announced the Launch of Tex Med Cluster project To support textiles,
weaving and garments sectors With the support of the European Union.
Alwakil added that this project Aims to attract investment, transfer technologies with modern methods of
administration with the development of exports and raise the efficiency of human resources through the
establishment of clusters to link weaving, dyeing and garment factories in Alexandria, besides chains and
owners of global brands.
The project includes linking between the Partnership and the seven similar partnerships in Spain, Italy,
Greece, Tunisia and Jordan With the aim of creating a Euro-Mediterranean coalition And developing the
current system to a new balanced one.
For his part, Alaa Ezz, Secretary General of the Egyptian and European federation said that the Europeans
partnerships in the project include: Italian Federation of Industries, Spanish Federation of Textile Industries,
Federation of Greek garments And the Technical Centre for Textiles Who are offering the technical
assistance to the project which will complement the Mediterranean Network for Sustainable Textile Industries
which will complement with the Mediterranean Network for Sustainable Textile Industries ( suntentex ) Until
keeping the textile sector meet the environmental requirements And reduce spoilage to raise the exports
competitiveness in order to develop this sector.
