Based on the vital role of Cairo Chamber to encourage and increase the economic
relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the outside world, and to consolidate
the trade and economic relations, encourage investment and increase trade exchange
between Egypt and foreign countries.
On the basis of this concept Mr. / Basha Idris Cairo Chamber's Vice- Treasurer and
Eng / Sameh Mustafa Zaky- Cairo Chamber's board member received a Chinese
delegation,which consists of representatives of the following :
the Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Cairo
representatives of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade In Ningxia
Association for developing agricultural and animal wealth
and some Chinese companies for import and export in several fields such as textiles,
automobiles and halal products, light industry ... and others.
on the other hand meeting was attended by representatives of commercial divisions at
Cairo Chamber in several different fields, in this meeting was discussed trade relations
between the two countries and the most important ways to support these relations during
the coming period.
At the beginning of the meeting Eng. / Sameh Zaky welcomed guests and expressed
the Chamber's appreciation for the visit of the Chinese delegation, describing
the Egyptian-Chinese relations as historical and strategic relations, saying
" the Chamber hopes for increasing the volume of trade exchange between
the two countries" . He also stressed on several points, including (consolidation of
relations between Egyptian businessmen and their counterparts in China, participation
in trade fairs and economic development in both countries to increase the development
of trade between the two countries, the establishment of joint economic and business
entities. Plus he welcomed holding bilateral meetings between the two sides after
the meeting to exchange experiences and to increase the volume of cooperation and
trade exchange between the two countries.
He said " Egypt is keen to support trade relations with all foreign countries to increase
trade. Cairo Chamber always seeks to consolidate these relations by organizing meetings
between Egyptian businessmen and their counterparts abroad to support the country's
economy"
Ms. Zi Zhong Mei -head of the Chinese delegation thanked Cairo Chamber for Warm
welcome. She described the Egyptian-Chinese relations as strong and strategic relations
for hundreds of years. In addition to this she suggested signing a memorandum of
understanding with Cairo Chamber aiming at increasing cooperation of export and import
in all fields, thus achieving a boom in trade between the two countries.
She expressed her wish for inviting Cairo Chamber's members to next exhibitions, which
will be held in China in order to strengthen ties between businessmen organizations in
both countries.
The members of commercial divisions in Cairo Chamber introduced themselves to
Chinese delegation. Some of them showed some of the problems faced by traders
in case of importing from China, such as smuggling some products, which is a loss
to the Egyptian traders. However they also agreed that the lack of quality problem is
limited to certain companies, and not all Chinese companies have these problems.
There are Chinese companies, whose products quality as good as European products.
Mr. Pasha Idris asked if the Chinese products were subject to examination, assorting, and
classification according to the quality like General Organization for Export and Import
Control in Egypt or not , In order to ensure the quality of the product.
At the end of the meeting, Eng., Sameh Zaky signed a protocol of cooperation with
the Chinese delegation and provides the Chamber's logo to the delegation as souvenir.
The Chinese delegation thanked Eng. Sameh Zaky for the good hospitality and warm
welcome. The delegation wished further progress, prosperity and increasing the volume of
trade exchange between the two countries.
