Division of Poultry at Cairo Chamber discusses relocating slaughterhouses

Poultry Division will hold an expanded meeting at Cairo Chamber on Wednesday to discuss a number of problems including relocating slaughterhouses outside the residential buildings and crisis of new licenses for poultry farms.

Dr. Abdul Aziz Elsayed, Division of poultry Chief pointed out that the meeting will be at presence of representatives of Cairo Governorate, Veterinary Medicine Authority and the Ministry of Supply to discuss these issues, In addition to discussing the Ministry of Supply policy on contracting with private sector companies for supplying poultry at a price of 17 pounds per kilo.

He criticized the procrastination of officials in implementing resolution No. 143 of 2014 on allowing private poultry farms to do necessary licenses as long as they did not commit any violations.

He said that the prices of poultry is stable now, and the markets is suffering a recession, white meat prices ranging between 11 - 12 pounds per kilogram within the farm to be sold in shops at a price ranging between 14 and 15 pounds per kilogram, frozen poultry recorded 18 pounds. As for the prices of eggs have increased because some of the breeders are working out production system.
