A report on the visit of the Angolan ambassador in Cairo

Based on the vital role which Cairo Chamber of Commerce plays to encourage and increase

bilateral trade, economic and  investment relations, Cairo Chamber of Commerce Represented in

Eng. Ibrahim Alaraby, The Chairman and Mr. Sameh Zaki, Board member Welcomed

H.E " António da Costa Fernandes," the Angolan ambassador in Cairo and H.E Hilario to Akoonja,

Commercial Counselor of the Embassy.

 

The meeting was attended also by Mr. Khaled Fouad Hafez, Legal Counselor of the Embassy

and Dr.  Ahmed Ibrahim Elias, professor of international law who made the coordination to hold this

meeting.

 

Eng. Ibrahim Aaraby started the discussion talking about Cairo Chamber of Commerce and its services,

He also expressed his pleasure with the visit to their second country Egypt in order to complement the

path of cooperation and integration In a lot of economic and commercial fields between both countries.

Although it is a good opportunity for trade between businessmen from the two sides.

 

HE Ambassador/ Antonio pointed out that the aim of this visit is to establish a joint chamber of

commerce in the Middle East, including Egypt - Angola - Lebanon and Jordan, other Middle Eastern

countries will be joined later to increase and activate economic cooperation.

 

His Excellency expressed his desire to establish this joint chamber in the 4th of February 2015 because

this date will mark the National Day of Angola,

 

He also said that he Met with Mr. Mohammed Aziz, one of the owners of tourism companies who stated

the possibility of organizing trips to Luanda, Angola,To help the Egyptian businessmen to meet their

Angolans counterparts.

 

Reviewing the fields in which they deal with as: importing medical supplies from Brazil and Switzerland,

as in the field of pharmaceutical manufacturing, they have only one factory and they also have equipment’s,

marine devices, they are also importing fabrics from China, but they will import it later from Egypt,

as it is characterized by the finest types of cotton fabrics.  

 

H.E Hilario to Akoonja, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, added that the aim of the establishment

of this joint chamber is the development of economic relations between Egypt and Angola knowing the

priorities for investment in both countries to increase the trade volume.

 

Mr. Sameh Zaki Said that Since we want to increase trade cooperation between both countries,

we have to establish a direct flight linking Egypt and Angola thereby facilitating to businessmen.

 

Mr. Khaled fouad also reported that the trade volume between both countries is too small so if there

is  a direct aviation or Land line, it will be stimulate trade between the two countries.

 

Mr. Ibrahim Elias spoke for the need exchange of visits between businessmen with a direct fly line,

which is possible from Sharm el-Sheikh and Luanda to help increasing the Angolan tourism to Egypt.

 

And at the end of the meeting, the Ambassador and Commercial Counselor thanking Eng. Ibrahim al Araby

and all attendees and they handed over the papers of the proposed establishment of the joint chamber to

inform them and to express their opinion.

 

Then HE Ambassador invites the chairman to visit Angola, hoped that Egypt will be one of the countries

that deal with Angola in the near future, He also thanked cairo chamber  for the warm reception and

Hosting.
