Dr.Abdulaziz. Chief of poultry Division at Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said that the poultry and egg prices have a significant decline as the price of a kilo from a poultry farm ranged from 9.75 up to 10 pounds, live poultry at a price of 13 pounds, slaughtered and packed poultry price ranged from 5-16 to 5-17 pounds .As for the price of eggs has gone down to 22 pounds, and the chick 2.60 pounds.

He pointed out that this decline threatens the sector with departure of a large group of poultry men. He stressed that the cost of poultry industry should be studied by concerned government authorities, to ensure the continuation of small farmers in the production circuit, after the losses they suffer as a result of the low prices and the recession.
