With the growth of the Arab and Asian economies over the last decade, and the opening up of many emerging markets in the region, cross-border expansion of businesses in this region has become a significant phenomenon in the current situation.

According to the IMF’s World Economic Outlook, 2014. Asia’s including China and India continues to lead the world in terms of global recovery. Japan’s growth is projected to be 1.4 percent in 2014. China’s growth is projected to touch 7.5 percent. India’s growth is expected to be around 5.4 percent and the ASEAN-5 economies are expected to clock a growth of around 4.9 percent in 2013.

The Arab World is also witnessing a transformation of sorts. The priority for the Gulf region now lies focused on diversification of these economies to reduce dependence on oil, increase employment opportunities in the private sector for nationals, and enhance resilience to shocks. Reforms to foster entrepreneurship has now taken centre stage..

Against this backdrop, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Kingdom of Bahrain is organizing the Arab-Asia Business Partnership Summit – The first ever Exhibition and Conference of the Arab-Asian Enterprises and Corporate under the theme of ‘Re-inventing Regional Markets’ in Manama, Bahrain from 9 to 11 December, 2014. India will be the Focus Country in this event and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been requested to coordinate the India Pavilion at the event.
