EL Abd: 30% rise in the candy nuts at season of Prophet's Day

The major General Salah Al-Abd, Board member, Division of confectionery Chief

 

explained that: candy factories began to prepare for the season of the Prophet's

 

birthday (Al Mawlid)   while the confectionery stores will begin displying  products from

 

Coming Saturday.

 

He added that prices have not risen for regular candy from last year, but prices of candy

 

nuts has been rising by at least 30%, due to higher prices of nuts and hazelnuts, which

 

increased its price by at least 50%, and also prices of cashew, almonds, walnuts,

 

due to high prices in the countries of origin.
