The government is considering extending the period of modifying Trailers

In the frame of aiming to reduce Trailers problems and accidents’ caused, the modifying Trailers 

Committee is considering to allow owners for an additional two years period after the end of the

present grace period in August.

 

Mr. Samir Allam, General Manager of Egyptian British industry Auto- Zemex – said that Converting from

semi-trailer to trailer are doing by three companies only, so it is so difficult to complete this convert before

August.

 

Also, they will make proposals to extend the period for additional one or two years more as it is difficult

to withdraw all the infraction licenses Which will effect on the transportation processes, consequently the

economic and investment climate.

 

From the other side Engineering Motor Company announced that it has contracted with an Italian company

to participate in the Trailers modification process, stressing that its costs will be too high.

 

Either the land transportation Association requested the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade to limit the

trailers modifications only on traction tools as caused car accidents, As a result of increased speed trailer

up to 25 cm right and left Pointing out that fixing this traction tools will reduce Trailers accidents.
