Report on the visit of Yemeni Delegation to the headquarters of Cairo Chamber

Pursuant to the vital role of Cairo Chamber of Commerce in strengthening ways of cooperation and increasing economic relations between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the outside world, and consolidating the economic and trade relations to encourage investments  and increase trade exchange between Egypt and foreign countries.

 

 

 Dr. / Laila El Bialy Cairo Chamber's Board Member , Mr. / Khaled Mustafa, General Director of the Public Relations and the magazine Department and Ms / Fatma ElSayed  supervisor of the Retail Academy received a  delegation of the Council's Secretariat of the  Arab Economic Unity  in Yemen including Dr. Nagaat Jamaan President of Women Business Administration in the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and the Chamber of the Capital Secretariat and Dr. Nadia Ali Salem head  of Department of Economics at the University of Benha and adviser for Arab Unity Council.

 

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. / Laila Bialy welcomed the members of the delegation expressed her happiness with the visit which will contribute in increasing the volume of trade and investments between the two countries, and presented a brief history of the Cairo Chamber which is the first chamber of commerce in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It was created in 1913 and is considered One of the greatest public institutions that represent and protect commercial interests do not and gathers more than 500 thousand members (traders - trading companies). She also talked about the administrative system of the chamber, which consists of; Board of Directors, The Executive Chief, Bureau, Department of public relations, Commercial Divisions Department, Certificate Department, Healthcare project, AlMahrousa Club for Traders, and Conference Hall.

 

 

Dr. Nagaat asked about the source of Chamber's funding?

And Mr. Khalid replied that the source of the Chamber's funding through the Traders' fees paid for participation in the Chamber.

 

 

She also asked about the role of the Chamber in the case of a tax problem?

Mrs. Fatma replied that the Chamber is mediating between the taxes and traders to resolve tax problems through tax office located in Cairo Chamber's headquarters. Dr. Laila added that there are Tax representatives in a Tamayz Center and in headquarters of the Cairo Chamber to help the trader in writing tax Return.Dr. Nadia Ali - economics professor and head of the Department of Economics at the University of Benha and adviser for Arab Unity Council - asked about the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce and its relationship with Cairo Chamber of Commerce?

 

 

Dr. Laila said that the General Federation of Chambers consists of 26 Chambers and Cairo Chamber and Alexandria Chamber are considered Egypt's biggest chambers and the   budget of the federation depends on all the Chambers' fees.

 

 

Dr. Laila also talked  about the role of businesswomen and the Egyptian Business Women Association in which  works as  president of the Board of Directors and that there is a large number of business women participants in the Federation and chambers of commerce, and she  wondered about the role of businesswomen in  managing Yemen  Chamber?

 

Dr. Najaat answered that the aim of such management is to encourage women to participate in community work and trade in particular.

 

At the end of the meeting, Dr. / Laila ElBialy thanked  the Yemeni delegation for visiting the Chamber  and also the delegation thanked  Dr. Laila and Cairo Chamber of Commerce for the warm reception and hospitality, hoping that this meeting be a reason for further fruitful cooperation between the two countries in several sectors in commercial and economic areas.
