Cairo Chamber Expectations about prices before Ramadan

Mr. El Pasha Idris, Cairo Chamber's Treasurer, Head of exporters Division said that the

 

Sesame prices have increased at least 20% during the last period, pointing to the higher demand in

 

preparation for Ramadan season, in addition to the new shipments entered from Sudan to meet our

 

market needs.

 

He also warned of the smuggling operations which resulted lack of price stability in the markets.

 

 

On his part, Dr. Abd Elaziz Elsaid, head of poultry division stressed about the stability of white poultry

 

prices last week, Referring to the recent increase in electricity prices beside the dependence on the

 

imported production feeds, as a factors influenced the prices ups and downs.

 

 

About meat prices, Mr. Mohamed Sharaf, head of butchers division Stressing its high price at 4 pounds/kilo

 

in the last period to be sold to the consumer at a price of 80 pound.

 

He clarified that Price stability is due to the government preparations for importation and also

 

Pumping adequate amounts in the cooperative consumers,

 

However, he expected the price stability until Ramadan to be raised before Eid el , for not more than one pound.
