Egypt to sign free trade deal with 3 African blocs

Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour said Egypt is hosting the launch of

 

the free trade agreement between the three largest African blocs, which are

 

the COMESA, the SADC and the EAC, in Sharm El-Sheikh on June 10, with

 

the participation of leaders of 26 African countries.The meetings start on June 7 on

 

the level of senior officials and experts, followed by trade ministers of Member States

 

during 8 and 9, and holding the presidential summit will be on June 10 next month.

 

 

He added that international organizations, including the World Trade Organization,

 

the African Union, the UNCTAD, the UNECA, the World Customs Organization and

 

the African Development Bank are also attending the event.
