Pursuant to the vital role of Cairo Chamber of Commerce in strengthening ways of cooperation and

increasing economic relations between Egypt and the world, 

Eng. Ibrahim Al Araby – Cairo Chamber's Chairman Accompanied by Mr. El Basha Idris-Cairo Chamber's

Treasurer, Mr. Sameh Zaky, board member, Dr.  Abdul Aziz, Head of the poultry Division, Mr. Khaled

Moustafa, Chairman of trade and economic affairs sector, Mr. Mohamed Shalaby General Manager of

public relations, Mr. Mohammad Samir Director of Public Relations dept. and Mrs yasmine Medhat,

public relation specialist has been received Mr. Ambassador / Mahmoud drier Ghedi Ambassador of

Ethiopian Embassy in Cairo, Mr. Assefa Aandashao, economic consultant of the Embassy at Chamber

headquarter on Tuesday 26-5- 2015.

At the beginning of the meeting, Eng. Ibrahim Al Araby welcomed them and stressed about the importance

of increasing trade relations between Egypt and Ethiopia , referring to the importance of cooperation

between businessmen, traders and their Ethiopian counterparts in order to increase trade exchange between

the both countries.

 He pointed out that the Chamber is seeking to contribute in strengthening trade and economic relations

between both countries and always supporting the exchange of visits between the business organizations,

increasing trade fairs in both countries knowing all products in both markets.

 The Ambassador expressed his happiness to visit the chamber and meet with Eng. Ibrahim AL Araby

as his sovereignty said that he has a great background about the chamber’s history where he was in touch

with the former chairman Mr. Mahmoud al Araby  and he was following  the chamber activities and keen on

strengthening relations between Egypt and Ethiopia. 

The ambassador said that there is an Egyptian-Ethiopian Business Council changed every four years

between Egypt and Ethiopia as the current Egyptian chairman is Mr. Ahmed Al sweedy.

He stressed that the Egyptian-Ethiopia relations are powerful and old affirmed by the fruitful visit of

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Ethiopia in March 2015, and his speech in the Ethiopian Parliament was

a message for the whole world to assert these relations.

Although the Ambassador asked to interviewed directly with the Egyptian businessmen to introduce them

with the investments, export and import opportunities available..

Eng. Ibrahim al Araby suggested signing a protocol of cooperation between Cairo-Adis Ababa chambers

of commerce to promote trade and economic relations and to ease communication between members

of the two chambers and exchanging visits between both countries.

Mr. Ambassador welcomed the idea,  said that he will coordinate with the Ethiopian Foreign Minister in

Addis Ababa, mentioned Mr. Assefa Aandashao, economic advisor of the embassy in Cairo will be the

coordinator between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Mahmoud drier Ghedi, thanked them for the warm reception and

cooperation with the Chamber, which considers the most important organization, to increase trade exchange

between Egypt and Ethiopia.

Engineer Ibrahim AlAraby, Mr. El Basha Idris-Engineer and Eng. Sameh Zaky thanked the Ambassador 

for visiting the Chamber, wishing for fruitful cooperation, to increase the volume of trade exchange between

both countries.
