The decline of sales in "Ramadan" because of Price increases

Rajap AlAttar -Head of Perfumery Division at Cairo Chamber Revealed that  the decline in "Yameesh Ramadan "sales reached to 70% because of unprecedented high prices this year , rising of dollar price , and the new tariff increase that caused great confusion in  nuts market. He pointed out that this year traders will incur heavy losses after the decline in the value of the Ramadan bill from $ 100 million last year to $ 30 million this year.

 

 

He added that there are several reasons behind the decline in the value of Ramadan bill this year, partly because of the increase in general prices by up to 60% and the increase of the dollar price by 27%, rise of customs 30% and some other expenses.

 

 

Mohammed Sharaf, a member of the butchers Division of Cairo Chamber of Commerce also added that there is an increase in meat prices 1 pound a kilo, which is sold at a price of 49 instead of 48 pounds at slaughterhouses to reach the consumer at a price ranging between 75 and 80 pounds.

 

 

he said that the economic conditions of the poor citizens in general affected the decline in meat sales After the recovery in the sector before the start of the holy month of Ramadan directly, which amounted to 80% and currently dropped by 30%.
