Establishing Trade city in Suez Canal Corridor

Dr. Khaled Hanafy, Minister of Supply and Internal trade announced for current coordinating between the ministry and the Office of Dar Elhandasa for Consultancy and the Suez Canal Authority, to develop a general plan for the project of the world trade city within the axis of the Suez Canal, which includes developing East of Port Said Port, and areas of Ismailia, Qantara and Ain Sukhna .

 

The Suez Canal Corridor Area Project is  considered " Magic Antidote » for longstanding  diseases  of the Egyptian economy and lifeline for Egypt and the whole world, as it leads to convert Egypt into a logistic, global  hub, which achieves its global leadership in the maritime and logistics industry, and to become  globally an industrial , commercial center and tourism, through establishing  a new cultural area representing a starting point for the Egyptian economy and for progress and prosperity.

 

For his part, Yasser Abbas, Vice President of Internal Trade Development Authority of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the Authority is aimed at the finalization of the plan for the project  of commercial city in 6 months, and starting at the executive steps of the city before the end of 2015, pointing out that the ministry has received a number of offers from Egyptian companies and international institutions to participate in the planned projects in the city and the investment cost of about 40 billion pounds.

 

He explained that the initial studies for the project to be located on an area of 4.0002 million thousand meters, and will increase to 16 million meters with the start of implementation which will provide 500 thousand jobs. It includes models of world famous districts and shops to sell the brands of all commodities, amusement park, spa, global yacht marina, luxury and ordinary residential areas and investment areas beside them.
