The events of the summer sale started yesterday for ready-made clothes, amid expectation of sale movement from Chambers' members hoping in recovery of markets and returning the commercial movement of markets.

Mr. Mahmoud AlDaour, head of Garment Division at Cairo Chamber of Commerce confirmed that this sale will witness reductions ranging between 30 to 70% to push sales in the clothing sector, which recently suffers from the retreat of trade.

He stressed that the problem is not the discount rates, but the basic problem in the expected lack of consumer motivation during sale time; as a result of the weakness of the economic situation which comes under burdens like the new school year.

For his part, Mr. / Mahmoud Diab, official spokesman for the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, announced that the sale will continue for a month and is expected to continue until the new school year and also Eid al-Adha.
