Monthly report of Cairo Chamber of Commerce for meat prices

Food prices varied during the month of September, compared with the previous month, with meat prices rose by 17% on an annual basis, while fish and poultry prices fell.

 

The monthly report of Cairo Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, issued Thursday, rising municipal imported meat and poultry, against a decline in the price of fish.

 

The report revealed the high price the beef meat ( Kandouz)  to reach 86 pounds in September, compared to 85 pounds in August. The price of a kilo of buffalo meat rose about 50 pounds, to reach last month 65.5 pounds compared with 65 pounds in the previous month, and increased by about 12 pounds compared to the same month of last year, which amounted to 53.5 pounds.

 

The local mutton increased by about 91 pounds, compared with 90 pounds in August,  while increased by about 16% from a year ago.

 

The report pointed out the stability of Camel meat prices through September at 60 pounds, but increased as compared to the same month last year, 5.3%, which had reached 57 pounds per kilo.

 

Brazilian meat and frozen prices have stabilized during the last month, at 45 pounds, while jumped by about 25%, which is equivalent to 9 pounds compared to the same month of last year, which had recorded a 36 pounds, and the Sudanese meat prices declined by 2%, to 51 pounds during September, compared with 52 pounds during last August, which had recorded a rise of about 14.6% over the same period last year, amounted 6.5 pounds.

 

In the poultry market, the report showed a decline in most poultry prices, last month;the price of a kilo of farm chicken (white live) dropped  by about 7.9% to reach 17.5 pounds, compared with 19 pounds in the previous month, which increased compared to the same month of last year by about 6.1 %, which had recorded 16.5 pounds.

 

Kilo of chicken farms (Red live) prices have risen slightly by about 1.2 percent to 21.25 pounds, compared to 21 pounds in August, while had recorded a decline of about 5.6% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 22.5 pounds.

 

The report also pointed to the low prices of a kilo of chicken (local live) by about 2.2 per cent to 22.5 pounds, compared to 23 pounds in August, the prices had also recorded a decline of about 5.3% compared to September 2014, which had amounted to 23.75 pounds.

 

He added that prices of frozen chicken (Sadia / Brazilian) stabilized 25 pounds, which increased as compared to the same period of the previous year, which had recorded 21.5 pounds.

 

At the fish market the report showed that the most of the fish prices have declined, the price of a kilogram (big tilapia) declined by 13.2% to reach 16.5 pounds, compared with 19 pounds in August, while had been stable   in the same period last year. the price of a kilo (middle tilapia) recorded  decline by about 12.5 % to reach 14 pounds compared with 16 pounds  in the previous month in August, while recorded  increase compared to the same period of last year, which had recorded 13 pounds.

 

The prices of kilo fillet (Nile Perch) rose by about 6.3 percent to 85 pounds, compared to 80 pounds in the previous month.
