Engineer Ibrahim AlAraby ,the Cairo Chamber Chairman revealed that the coming period will witness

 

cooperation between consumer protection agency and the Chamber to adjust the market and protect

 

consumers, noting that this came after his meeting with major general Atef yacob- head of Consumer

 

Protection Agency and agreed on various studies on goods in all activities and raising the consumer

 

awareness and strengthen the role of consumer protection associations And civil society organizations

 

for protecting consumer.

AlAraby said that Maj. Gen. Atef yacob had explained the role played by the Consumer Protection Agency

 

according to the Consumer Protection Act No. 67 of 2006 to ensure the rights of consumers protection by

 

providing multiple mechanisms for receiving complaints and asking specialized bodies  for assistance

 

in examining complaints and preparing a technical report on them.

 

 

the Chamber's Chairman emphasized that the cooperation between the Consumer Protection Agency

 

and the chamber is a very good step on the grounds that consumer satisfaction is our common goal.

 

Especially the chamber is seeking to offer additional benefits to consumers other than provided for by

 

law for access to their rights easily.

 

 

It was agreed to hold workshops to raising awareness of Chamber's registered traders about

 

the consumer protection In order to spread the culture of legal cooperation between the Agency and

 

the Chamber pointing out that the Chamber will be provided with quantities of "posters"  of "replacement

 

and refund policy " for distribution among traders to be posted in stores, as well as raising

 

the awareness brochures published by the Agency.

 

 

AlAraby referred  that it was also agreed that the Chamber will provide  Agency with information data

 

base including the legal representatives of the companies registered in the Chamber  for faster access

 

and eliminating the causes of complaints amicably before resorting to legal ways, that  hinder  The work

 

process.
