Agents and distributors of automotive division at Cairo Chamber expected a decline in the total market of auto sales this year to reach 260 thousand cars compared to the total sales last year, which amounted to 292 thousand.

Alaa  El Sabaa member of agents and distributors of automotive division at Chamber of Commerce said that the decline in sales amounted to 10% as a result of the unavailability of the dollar because of the decisions issued by the Central Bank concerning  the limits relating the dollar remittances to 10 thousand dollars per day and 50 thousand per month.

He stressed that those decisions have had negative repercussions on the domestic auto market since the issuance in February and so far , the sales rates and the ability of the agent to import new models.
