Increasing world cereal production reduces subsidy allocations of wheat

Grain industry experts predicted drop of subsidy allocations in the budget for imported wheat, which reached 8 million tons per year on the background of increasing global crop to its highest level in production since 29 years.

 

For his part, Mr. / El Basha Idris-Cairo Chamber's treasurer and head of exporters' division said that the government allocated nearly 22 billion pounds to subsidy the purchase of imported wheat in order to satisfy consumption, which reached to 14 million tons.

 

He stressed the need to expand the cultivation of wheat to bridge the large gap between production and consumption by reclaiming new land and providing support to grain farmers.

 

The World Grains Council's report has confirmed that for the third year in a row, the production is superior to the consumption that resulting in a severe outbreak of war between the rivals even Iran entered in the framework of the exporting countries.
