Chambers of Commerce demanding abolition of the new import requirements

Importers demanded to cancel the decision of the Minister of industry and trade on conditions for a number of imported goods because it has negative impact on the business community during the meeting held in the General union of the Chambers of Commerce.

 

Eng. Ibrahim AlAraby Deputy Head of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Cairo Said that the meeting attended by importers from Cairo and various governorates and came up with a consensus on cancelling this decision because of its negative impact on traders and citizens.

 

 a Committee composed of Osama Jaafar Cairo Chamber's Board member, Ahmed Shiha Chief of importers Division , Ashraf Hilal, Chief of the Division of household and electrical appliances ,and Hisham Saleem Housewares trader in Damietta Chamber was formed to develop proposals relating to this decision and the reasons for rejection.

 

In the same context, Emad Qenawy, Cairo Chamber 's board member and member of the importers Division in Cairo Chamber said that this decision would eliminate the business community and workers, especially traders who had a major role in the past, especially during last crisis to maintain the supply of goods and prices stability.

 

It should be noted that these demands come in conjunction with a meeting held by Eng. Tarek Qabil Minister of industry and Commerce with Bureau of the General Federation of Chambers of Commerce to discuss this decision.
