El Sisi discusses the role of regulatory bodies after rising customs on luxury goods

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Engineer Sherif Ismail, Prime Minister to review the overall developments in the political and economic conditions on the domestic level, the government's plan and the progress that has been made in providing the the citizen needs such as energy and food.

 

The ambassador Alaa Yousef, presidential spokesman said in an official statement that President El Sisi drew the attention to the importance of regulatory bodies' role in consumer protection to ensure the provision of good items at reasonable prices. the President underlined the importance of continuing operations  of price control to prevent using the last decisions of increasing customs on what he described as «some luxury goods and luxury appliances» as a reason to increase prices on low-income citizens who «do not purchase any of those goods» he said.

 

Yousef added that the Prime Minister pointed out that he will begin to meet with deputies of governorates to get to know their demands, needs and problems faced by citizens or service and development projects to discuss quick and non-traditional solutions to problems.
