Al Ashmoni: Statistics of Cairo governorate on the "street vendors" is Inaccurate

Atef  Al Ashmouni, secretary-general of Cairo Chamber Said that The Cairo Governorate statistics on

 

the total number of street vendors in Cairo, which reaches 20,000 vendor, is Inaccurate and that

 

their number much exceeds this statistics. In light of security mess they are coming from

 

the governorates of Upper Egypt. This came in response to a statistics recently announced by

 

the governorate.

 

 

Al-Ashmouni  added that  the  short-term plan of Cairo Governorate to solve the crisis of street vendors,

 

which will take 10 to 12 months would not be positive, saying "the rapid solution should not exceed two

 

months barrier Especially that placing the vendors in New units does not exceed two thousand ".

 

The Cairo Chamber's Secretary General  called  for reconsidering  the untapped areas in

 

the Governorate  like  Taha Qandil  street  in Matareya.

 

 

The market, which has been held at about 100 million pounds by  the Ministry of Awqaf. He pointed  out

 

that it is subject to state ownership and  It should facilitate coordination between the various parties to

 

ensure the elimination of chronic problems facing society and the national economy specially crisis of

 

street vendors.
