The Egyptian Tax Authority and Cairo Chamber of Commerce signed a joint protocol of cooperation on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, this comes within the framework of seeking to build bridges of trust between the Authority and business community to facilitate tax transactions and receive inquiries and complaints from traders to be examined and by monthly coordination between the two sides.

the protocol stipulated on forming committee,that includes five members from Tax Authority  and 5 members of Cairo Chamber to take over the coordination between the two sides in all common themes.

Mr. / Abdel Moneim Mattar Head of Tax Authority stressed that the Chamber is a  main partner in the implementing its policies, calling for increasing cooperation between the two sides to eliminate the informal market by dealing with invoices.

On his part, Engineer Ibrahim AlAraby Cairo Chamber's Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the General Federation of Chambers, explained that the protocol that was signed includes 15 items, including not to take any legal action by Tax Authority except after presenting the dispute to the formed joint committee to resolve the dispute amicably.

in addition to that organizing training courses for Cairo Chamber's members  on the tax models how to deal with it and collecting taxes by the latest methods .

he also added that this agreement aimed at  activating the Tax office in the Chamber so that it will receive all the income tax returns and financiers can  pay  electronically.

Concerning the new draft of value added tax law he said that the business community demanding to cancel the registration limit, not to increase to be mandatory for all producers and Traders to pay VAT.

He expected that the joint protocol contributes in solving many of tax problems especially after forming  joint committee  between the two sides to discuss all the issues of common interest .adding that there is a desire on both sides to facilitate trade and solve problems in a friendly way to achieve public interest .
