Paper Division raises memorandum to Cairo Chamber on the custom sector problems

The Division of paper traders and owners of printing presses at Cairo Chamber of Commerce prepares currently a memorandum to be submitted to the Board of Directors of the Chamber, headed by Engineer Ibrahim ElAraby, including the problems facing the sector with regard to customs. This happened during its first meeting yesterday after the re-formation of its Board of Directors recently to discuss topics related to paper sector.

 

Amr Kheddr Chief of the Division of paper traders and owners of printing presses at Cairo Chamber said that the memorandum will be submitted to the Customs Authority  by Cairo Chamber  about  the need to represent the Division in formulating or amending any standard specification concerning the paper sector because the lack of consideration will reflect negatively on  consumers next and also about  the need to find solutions to the problems facing importers of paper, especially in the ports, "Sokhna and Dekheala"  that increased  between 15 and 20% which affects the final price of the paper .

 

He said that  the demands  include also the need of providing  the Division of adequate data relating to the paper amounts received during 2015 as well as  the types , quantities and the exported country to determine the direction of the market index in this sector in addition to the long time problem of customs procedures, which must be fast and unified because this will reduce the cost of the product itself, as there is a complaint from the increased cost of Chinese arena in  Alexandria Customs, which should be  studied as not to effect  on the cost not reflect in the final price of the commodity.

 

The Chief of the division said that the coming period will witness the intensification of the Division role in the sector to discuss the problems, pointing out that many meetings will be held to discuss common issues with the General Authority for Export and Import Control and discuss the problems faced by the paper sector with the Authority officials.
