Shoukry: applying social responsibility in organizations is necessary

Ali Shoukry , Vice Chairman of Cairo Chamber of Commerce and head of the ISO  Committee confirmed that applying  social responsibility within all the institutions has become a necessity for  providing  technical support and guidance for the International Standard "IOS 26000," pointing out that  recently Cairo Chamber of Commerce gained  certificate  of  Specification "ISO 26000" specialized in  Social responsibility as a result of a major effort in applying this standard and disseminating  concepts and principles of social responsibility.

 

Shoukry said that the institutions' commitment to a moral behavior in all its dealings is  part and parcel of Social responsibility towards individuals, society and that is what Western society realized and drafted in a form of basic principles and  have been inserted in a global specification under the name Standard "ISO 26000".

 

It is an international specification gives guidance on social responsibility that can be applied by all organizations of various kinds in public and private sectors through the seven main, axes, which are  "accountability - transparency - moral conduct – Respect for stakeholders' interests  - Respect for the rule of law - respect for international norms of behavior - respect for human rights.

 

Shoukry added that Cairo Chamber is the first Chamber to obtain certificate of ISO "26000" in Egypt and this confirms its important role on the local and international level.
