Kuwait, Egypt to boost ties – KCCI head leads team to Cairo

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: A high-ranking Kuwaiti economic delegation, headed by Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) President Muhammad Al- Sager, traveled to Egypt for an official visit that will continue until Oct 4, reports Al- Rai daily. This is part of KCCI’s efforts to open new economic horizons between Kuwait and Egypt, strengthen ties between the two countries, and deepen the historic Egyptian- Kuwaiti relations.

The delegation has 46 members including the KCCI Board of Directors and representatives of some government agencies, professional associations and a group of Kuwaiti companies interested in the following sectors: investment, banking, industry, tourism, hotel, foodstuff, logistics, shipping, handling and storage, aviation, education, communications, construction and contracting. This is in addition to members of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council and the administrative body of KCCI.

 

KCCI organized this visit in partnership with the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce. The official visit’s program includes the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Economic Forum on various topics like investment opportunities, business environment in Egypt, major national projects in these sectors — agriculture, industry, real estate investment, tourism and services.

 

The delegation will familiarize themselves with the State ownership policy, opportunities for partnership between the public and private sectors, and the projects of the economic zone in the Suez Canal. The Kuwaiti side will present the investment climate in Kuwait, an overview of the Kuwaiti economy, and a presentation on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kuwait. They will also hold meetings with high-level officials in the Egyptian government to discuss ways to consolidate economic cooperation, and a reflection of Egypt’s interest in attracting Kuwaiti investors to participate in the implementation of mega projects.
