Belarus, Egypt intent to remove barriers to mutual trade

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Arab Republic of Egypt Sergei Terentiev met with head of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization & Quality (EOS) Khaled Soufi on 8 February 2023, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The parties considered the Belarusian-Egyptian cooperation in such areas as standardization and conformity assessment of quality and product safety. Steps to optimize the regulatory framework to eliminate technical barriers to mutual trade between the two states were discussed.

The parties reached arrangements to intensify interdepartmental cooperation on the basis of the memorandum of cooperation signed between the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus and the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality in 2019.
