The Prime Minister issues a decision to exempt some gold imports from customs duties and other fees.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, has issued a decision to exempt certain imports, which are brought through customs ports by passengers coming from outside the country, from customs duties and other fees except for value-added tax, for a period of six months.
These imports include: semi-manufactured gold, subject to customs tariff number (7108.13), gold prepared for monetary circulation subject to customs tariff number (7108.20), jewelry and parts thereof made of other precious metals, even if broken or plated with a layer of precious metals, subject to customs tariff number (7113.19).
According to the decision, this exemption does not include natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones, or those set in jewelry and its parts
It should be noted that the Cabinet approved the Prime Minister's decision in this regard in its meeting yesterday.
