Prime Minister Attends "Builders of Egypt 2023" Conference to Boost Construction Industry Exports to Regional Countries

Madbouli: We support the role of the conference in building partnerships to drive the construction industry in the region and enhance the participation of the Egyptian private sector in these efforts based on its extensive experience. This morning, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, the Prime Minister, witnessed the opening of the "Builders of Egypt 2023" conference in its eighth edition under the slogan "Egypt's promising opportunities to export the construction industry to regional countries". The conference is organized by the African Union of Construction Contractors in collaboration with the Saudi Contractors Authority and "Excellent Communication" company, a subsidiary of the United Media Services Company.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Dr. Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Mrs. Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity; Ambassador Sahar Nasr, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs; Engineer Hassan Abdel Aziz, President of the African Union of Construction Contractors; and Engineer Zakaria bin Abdulrahman Al-Abid Al-Qadir, President of the Saudi Contractors Authority, in addition to several Arab and African delegation heads, ambassadors, senior officials, and representatives of the private sector.
The Prime Minister emphasized that his participation in the opening of this conference reflects the government's support for the direct role it plays in building partnerships that contribute to driving the construction industry in the region as a cornerstone for continuing development efforts witnessed by many countries, while enhancing the participation of the Egyptian private sector in these efforts based on its extensive experience in this field.
The conference sessions also highlight the support and facilitation of exporting the construction industry, building materials industries, and complementary industries associated with the contracting activity in the country, as well as reviewing the exceptional Egyptian experience in the fields of smart infrastructure and giant national projects, which have honed the capabilities of Egyptian companies and qualified them to compete in foreign markets. In addition, the conference sessions showcase the outstanding Egyptian experience in building new smart cities according to the latest international standards and the possibility of exporting this experience to the markets of Arab and African countries aspiring to development.
The conference sessions also highlight the role of the private sector and its importance as a key partner and actor in various fields of development and urbanization in the country, and highlight the companies' ability to compete for giant projects in foreign countries. Additionally, the sessions discuss support tools and means of enabling Egyptian contracting companies and companies specialized in building materials industries to acquire greater opportunities in the markets of Arab and African countries, supporting the export of major strategic industries to partner countries in development. The conference also reviews Egypt's exceptional experience in implementing the presidential initiative "Decent Life," which focuses on developing villages across the Republic's governorates to serve around 60 million citizens, contributing to achieving real and sustainable development.
The conference aims to facilitate face-to-face meetings between executive and regional leaders who are participating in the event. These meetings will focus on discussing the developmental strategies for construction companies in African and Arab markets. The conference will foster constructive dialogue on the best global practices related to contracting export policies, and encourage the exchange of recommendations through open discussion sessions. Additionally, the conference seeks to establish alliances and partnerships among all governmental, economic, financial, and service sectors that are involved in the construction industry.
