PM discusses project to establish giant plant for green hydrogen in Egypt

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Tuesday8/8/2023 chaired a meeting to discuss a project proposal submitted by a major foreign company to establish a giant plant for green hydrogen in Egypt.

 

The meeting was attended by Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El Din and the CEO of the company responsible for executing this project, as well as other officials, said Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.

 

The spokesman added the plant is due to annually produce 400,000 tons of green hydrogen, through complete reliance on solar energy with a capacity of 15 gigawatts.

 

Saad stated the plant production will be exported to Europe, noting the project is expected to generate annual profits of USD one billion and provide many jobs.
