Final Task Force Meeting To Finish The Industrial Innovation Strategy

With the end of the year on the horizon, the Industrial Council for Technology and Innovation (ICTI) and PSME’s Innovation Policy Advisory (IPA) gathered the task force that was involved in drafting the Industrial Innovation Strategy to finalise the document.

The committee consists of a broad range of stakeholders of the Egyptian innovation system. Besides the most important public institutions, relevant industry stakeholders as well as representatives from academia and business associations have teamed up to enhance the innovation ecosystem of Egypt. Throughout 2016 the task force worked hard to contribute to the development of the Industrial Innovation Strategy, including a study tour to Germany to explore the German national innovation strategy and system. The ongoing effort resulted in the presentation of the developed draft paper to His Excellency Minister Tarek Kabil.

During the final task force meeting, the committee discussed the draft one last time in order to take into account inputs from several stakeholders and adapt changes to measures to assure a swift implementation by the ministry and its supporting partners. Equipped with advice on prioritization, ICTI and IPA now put together the final version of the paper and move ahead to get started on working on the implementation.
