Trade between China, Egypt exceeds $ 6 bn in January-July

CAIRO- 1 September ,2017: Trade between China and Egypt hit $ 6.098 billion during the period from January to July 2017, down 11.10 percent a year-on-year, official Chinese figures have showed. 

The Chinese exports to Egypt declined 20.05 percent on a yearly basis to $ 5.336 billion in the past seven months, according to figures released by the Chinese customs department. 

However, the Chinese imports from Egypt rose 311.22 percent to dlrs 762 million, while the Chinese trade surplus reached dlrs 4.574 billion, down 29.51 percent. 

In July, the Chinese imports from Egypt were up 419.04 percent to 102 million dollars, while the exports to Egypt went down 15.71 percent to 818 million dollars. 

Until July, Egypt came 52nd in China’s list of biggest trade partners.
