President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi asserted on Tuesday Egypt’s keenness to enhance trade and investment projects with Kuwait.

Al-Sisi’s remarks came during his meeting with Chairperson of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed Jassem Al-Saqer, in the presence of the Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Abbas Kamel, and Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamaa.

Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady said that Al-Sisi asked Al-Saqer to convey his greetings to Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The president confirmed the solid historical relations between Egypt and Kuwait on all levels, asserting Egypt’s firm position on supporting the security and stability of Kuwait and the entire Gulf region, which is considered part of Egypt’s national security.

He pointed to the government’s keenness to communicate with Kuwaiti investors to support their activities in Egypt and to overcome any obstacles they may face.

On his part, Al-Saqer hailed Egypt’s pivotal role in the region as a main pillar to achieve security and stability in the Arab region.

He also praised the comprehensive development witnessed by Egypt during the past years since the start of the economic reform process and for providing an attractive climate for investment, saying that the climate of Egypt provides diverse and promising investment opportunities in all sectors.

Furthermore, he confirmed Kuwaiti businessmen’s keenness to increase their investments in Egypt in light of the significant and serious development climate in the country.

Rady added that the meeting witnessed discussions on ways to support the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Business Council for its important role in increasing communication and interaction between businessmen in the two countries.

Additionally, they reviewed the available investment opportunities and discussed new joint projects, especially in the fields of infrastructure, clean energy, and water desalination.

Both sides also affirmed the need to continue the meetings of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Joint Committee to discuss ways to enhance economic investment and trade relations between the two countries.

Earlier this week, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry visited Kuwait to hold talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Ahmad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah.

The meeting aimed to discuss the latest developments in the Arab region, exchange views on issues of mutual concern, and unify stances regarding various challenges facing Arab countries.
