Mahlab Holds talks in Milan to support Egyptian economy next Thursday

Arab Finance: Engineer Ibrahim Mahlab Prime Minister is heading an economic and industrial summit in Milan on Thursday, July 23, 2015 .
The summit is organized by the Italian-Egyptian Business Council to showcase the latest investment opportunities in Egypt in the presence of the Italian Minister of Economic Development Federica Guidi, the Minister of Industry and Commerce and small and medium-sized enterprises Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour, Egyptian-Italian Business Council headed by Engineer "Khaled Abu Bakr," Mr. Marcello Sala, and major Italian companies chairmen, topnotch businessmen and manufacturers in Italy and Egypt.
The prime minister will also chair the activities of international workshop in Verona which will be organized by the International Institute for Political Studies in Italy in cooperation with the Egyptian Business Council on the economic reform agenda in Egypt as well as the Italian experience in this field. Khalid Abu Bakar said the summit will be dealing with investment opportunities offered by the government in the research and exploration in the oil & gas, the needed infrastructure development for transport and storing lines and ports as well as the modernization and development of refineries.
The summit will also be dealing with the upcoming flourishing investment prospects in electricity generation as well as new and renewable energy projects, nevertheless in the industrial city of leather in Alrubiki area, the Golden Triangle and the city of furniture in Damietta in addition to discussing the latest developments in various areas of investment.
The Egyptian president of the Egyptian-Italian Business Council and the Chairman of Taqa Arabia added that the Egyptian side will review the latest developments undertaken in the area of economic reform and the encouragement of investment, in addition to reviewing the findings of the memorandums of understanding and cooperation between Italian and Egyptian companies since the visit of Mr. President to Rome in November 2014, as well as Sharm el-Sheikh conference in March 2015.
For his part, the President of the Italian side of the Egyptian-Italian Business Council Marcello Sala said that the Council adopts the support of the Egyptian government's plans for economic reform and increasing investment opportunities, pointing out that the Council provides all its potential to achieve its objectives, namely the construction of a new integrated railway network for the express train service and logistics in Egypt, the re-opening of the waterway between Egypt and Italy and the creation of production sites for small and medium-sized Italian companies in the free zones.
He pointed out that the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab in Italy is a great opportunity to inform the business community of Italy of all the recent progresses in Egypt, especially that the visit coincide with the World Expo hosted by Milan since last May to October, such exhibition is a meeting place for a number large companies, investors and producers in the world.
Ambassador Ashraf Rashed affirmed that any member of the Council seeks to increase cooperation between Egypt and Italy in all economic, trade and investment sectors to support the strategic partnership between the two countries on all political, economic, commercial and cultural levels.
In the same context, Hamid al-Chiti, Head of Travco Group International for Tourism and member of the Italian-Egyptian Business Council said that there were negotiations in advanced stages to support and revitalize cultural and religious tourism, as well as leisure cruises in the Nile and the development of Luxor and Aswan on the map of Italian tourism.
