CAIRO - 21 June 2022: The Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, affirmed the ministry's keenness to provide all aspects of support and assistance to Qatari companies investing in the Egyptian market, and to overcome all the obstacles they face, thus contributing to the expansion of current investments and pumping new investments in Egypt during the next phase.
This came during an extensive meeting with the Qatari Businessmen Association headed by Faisal bin Qassim, during which they reviewed investment opportunities in the Egyptian market and current and targeted projects for member companies of the association in Egypt.
Gamea pointed out that there are many investment opportunities available in the Egyptian market, which is a main gateway to the African and European markets, thanks to the trade agreements that Egypt has with these markets, according to a statement.
She emphasized the important role of the business communities in Egypt and Qatar in strengthening the bonds of economic cooperation between the two countries, and establishing more joint investment projects, in a way that contributes to achieving economic development, meeting the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and creating more job opportunities.
The minister added that the meeting dealt with arranging the visit of the delegation of the Qatari Companies Association to Egypt in the near future to recognize the available investment opportunities in various productive and service sectors, noting that discussions were held with the member companies of the association regarding the possibilities of establishing a hotel in Damietta Furniture City with Qatari investments.
The meeting was attended by Amr El-Sherbiny, Egypt's ambassador to Qatar, Minister of Trade Plenipotentiary Yehia Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of Commercial Representation, and Hatem El-Ashry, Advisor to the Minister for Institutional Communication.
