Egypt-France Trade Grows 61% to $992 Mln- CAPMAS

The value of trade between Egypt and France jumped by 60.7% during the first quarter of 2022 to reach $991.9 million, compared to $617.2 million during the same period in 2021.
 
Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) indicated that the value of Egypt’s exports to France increased to $557 million during the first quarter of this year, compared to $183.9 million during the same period in 2021, an increase of 202.9%.
 
It pointed out that the top ten commodity groups exported by Egypt to France during the first quarter of 2022 were mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products with a value of $325 million, fertilizers with a value of $60.7 million, machinery, appliances and electrical equipment with a value of $53.4 million, and plastics and their products with a value of $16.3 million.
 
The value of Egypt’s exports of organic chemical products to France amounted to about $11.6 million, and to aluminum and its products about $6.8 million, and to textile materials at a value of $6.2 million.
 
Egypt exported stone and cement products to France worth $5.1 million, vegetables and plants worth $5 million, and essential oils worth $4.5 million.
 
Egypt imports cars from France worth $47 million
 
The value of Egypt’s imports from France increased slightly by 0.4%, to reach $434.9 million during the first quarter of this year, compared to $433.3 million during the same period in 2021.
 
It showed that the top ten commodity groups imported by Egypt from France during the first quarter of 2022 were pharmaceutical products with a value of $60.9 million, cars, tractors and bicycles with a value of $47.3 million, and machines, appliances and electrical equipment with a value of $29.6 million.
 
Egypt imported grains worth $24.2 million from France, boilers, machines, devices and automatic tools worth $23.5 million, plastics and its products worth $23.3 million, and organic chemical products worth $17.1 million.
 
Egypt’s imports of milk and dairy industry products from France amounted to about $16.4 million from various chemical products about $14.9 million, and from iron or steel products worth $13.1 million.
 
French investments in Egypt grow 77%
 
French investments in Egypt grow 77% during the first half of 2021/22 The value of French investments in Egypt increased by $228.4 million during the first half of the fiscal year 2021/22, compared to $128.9 million during the same period in the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of 77.2%.
 
The value of remittances from Egyptians working in France amounted to $126.1 million during the fiscal year 2020/21, compared to $105.7 million during the fiscal year 2019/20, an increase of 16.2%.
