Egyptian exports in 2021 reach highest level in 7 years: Planning Ministry

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in Egypt announced that Egyptian exports have recorded their highest level in seven years in 2021.

 

This came in a report by the ministry that highlighted the achievement of the trade balance at its best level in seven years – which continues to improve despite successive global crises – from 2014 to 2021.

Egyptian exports reached a value of US$43.6 billion in 2021, compared to $29.3 billion in 2020, $30.5 billion in 2019,  29.3 billion in 2018, $26.3 billion in 2017, $22.5 billion in 2016, $ 22 billion in 2015, and $ 27.6 billion in 2014.

 

The report showed the performance of the trade balance from 2014 to 2021, as it reached $39.8 billion in 2021, $41.1 billion in 2020, $46 billion in 2019, $52.6 billion in 2018, $ 40.3 billion in 2017, $48.9 billion in 2016, $52.4 billion in 2015 and $46.3 billion in 2014.

The Ministry of Planning indicated the stability of employment levels during July, indicated by non-oil producing companies.

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed a decline in unemployment rates during the first quarter of 2022 to reach 7.2 percent after reaching 7.4 percent during previous quarter.
